Katherine Coleman 8/26/1918 White Sulphur Springs, WV.

Physicist, mathematician.

Graduated West Virginia State College now West Virginia University at age 18.

Worked on NASA missions.  John Glenn refused to fly unless she did the calculations.

First black woman to attend graduate school at West Virginia University.

Co-authored 26 scientific papers.

Taraji P. Henson portrayed her in the movie Hidden Figures.
