10 Things I Noticed about #blackAF

by Kiki

A lot has been written about #blackAF and let me go on record that I love it. I selected it as my sitcom to study for my “Conscious Comedy” class taught by Karen Williams.

Here are 10 things I noticed about #blackAF:

It debuted on 4/17/2020 on Netflix

I actually knew what AF means without looking it up.

Yes, go head on Kenya, Barris, the man, not the country.

IRL (in real life) Kenya’s estranged wife’s nickname is Rainbow and she is an anethesioligst

Kenya is father to 6 kids.

Ava DuVernay, Tyler Perry, Issa Rae, and Lena Waithe all appear as themselves in the show.

“because of slavery” (not a spoiler alert, but you will only get this if you watch the show.

Kenya is self-irreverent AF. Haters just be hating.

The original title was “Black Excellence”.

It is always about race, relationships, and culture.
