Diana Ross was born March 26th 1944 in Detroit, Michigan.
Her mother named her Diane but a clerical error had Diana on her birth certificate.
She is the only woman artist to have number one singles as a solo artist, duet, trio, and ensemble.
Billboard named her “Female Entertainer of the Century” in 1976.
In 1993 the Guinness Book of World Records declared her the most successful female artist in history.
She worked at Hudson’s Department Store and was the first black employee to work outside of the kitchen.
She was the first Black woman to host the Academy Awards.
She has five children.
