LGBTQ Night at Golden State Warriors

by Kiki

Friday November 2nd vs. the Minnesota Timberwolves the Golden State Warriors celebrated LGBTQ night.

Fans who purchased tickets through the LGBTQ link received a commemorative t-shirt. The Warriors also hosted a pre-game mixer and folks had the opportunity for a photo op with Larry, the Larry O’Brien NBA Championship trophies from 2015, 2017, and 2018.

The San Francisco Lesbian/Gay Freedom Band performed the National Anthem.

BAYCAT produced videos shown through the night featuring fans and staff discussing the importance of being an ally. Two themes: “confront your own bias first” and “be intolerant of intolerance”.

Members of the front office staff also wore the commemorative t-shirts along with the Warriors Dance Team and Hoop Troop. The later subbed rainbow flags in lieu of the standard warrior flags.

Peace, love, joy, gratitude, faith, courage, compassion, and blessings.
