via Daily Prompt: Conquer
by Kiki
I have a daily spiritual practice that helps keep me centered. I did not have a daily writing practice until I saw this prompt.
Routine/practice is essential in my spiritual life and so it should be also in my writing/blogging life. When I was doing The Artist’s Way by Julia Cameron, I began each day with “morning pages” writing for 30 minutes before doing anything else. Even if one wrote over and over: I hate this, morning pages suck, I suck as a writer.
The idea was simply to develop a routine, a practice, to get the creative juices flowing.
And so it is with the daily prompt, I accept the challenge of making this part of my writing ritual. I have written one before but I didn’t join the community and read others and comment and read comments.
When I read the word conquer at first blush I thought “divide and conquer”, war. When I searched for an image for this piece in Pixabay the above image emerged, “conquer fear everyday” and I knew that was the calling/lesson for this prompt.
I would add an “s” to fear. The fear of living, the fear of loving, the fear of writing, the fear of dying, the fear of failure, the fear of success and on and on.
I will “conquer fear(s) everyday”. First fear of writing conquered.
Peace, love, joy, gratitude, faith, courage, compassion, and blessings.
