Oakland–Today is the second day of Kwanzaa, Kujichagulia (Self-Determination) and the Nguzo Saba (Seven principles) explain that it is “to define ourselves, name ourselves, create for ourselves and speak for ourselves”.

I reject what others have named me and how they defined me and embrace and accept how I define myself.  I am a mother, daughter, sister, cousin, blesbian, friend, partner (shout out to my BFF, hubby, business partner, co-publisher/co-founder of Arise 2.0, MacArthur Flournoy).  We define ourselves and our relationship.

I am also an introvert, writer, blogger, vlogger, author.  I am many things.  Today, Kujichagulia, I am determined to define me, name me, create for me, and speak for me.

Harambee! Harambee!

Peace, love, gratitude, compassion, and blessings.
