Oakland–Sitting here on Christmas night listening to George Michael’s (ne Georgios Kyriacos Panayiotou) Faith on repeat from the 1987 eponymous debut album with my chosen family.

Best line “But I gotta think twice before I give my heart away, and I know all the games you play because I play them too”.

In a year when we lost David Bowie, Prince, Vanity, Dan Haggerty, Maurice White, Glen Frey, Leonard Cohen, Earnestine Anderson, Natalie Cole, Leon Russell, and Merle Haggard losing George Michael today just reminds us that we “gotta have faith”.
