Baltimore –Writer, speaker, blogger, Human Resources Executive, Ben Pitts who holds a Masters in Human Resources and a Masters in Business Administration could hardly be called an underachiever. Beyond his professional career, his community service, faith-based efforts, Ben’s primary goal, is to foster conversation am0ng an array of people with the intent to educate and stimulate exchange 0f ideas. Even with topics evoke passion.
Ben is that kind of person that elevates your thinking, lifts your spirits and challenges your perception of what’s possible. He does all of this with a genuine humility and a depth of thought.
“I try to share information that lifts people up and reminds them of their dreams” offers Ben. He will tell you that he is not a preacher in the traditional sense, who stands before throngs of people to offer sermons. However, his inspirational musings have garnered him a growing following of more than 500o Facebook friends, where he shares quotes, words of wisdom and questions for reflection.
As a self identified Christian, Ben seeks to embody the biblical principle of an inclusive justice evoking Micah 6:8, “[w]hat does the L0rd require of you, to walk justly, to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God.” All qualities Ben exemplifies. His faith background is a tapestry of Catholicism African Methodist Episcopalian and Baptist.
Wednesday evenings you can find him engaging one of his favorite media past times, Facebook Live weekly broadcast, “108 Live” with Troy Jones, President of 108 Organization. Their program, 108 Live embraces an array of topics such as Autism, HIV/AIDS or dating outside one’s race.
In reflecting on his combined professional and personal work, he says “I just recognize lots of people are hurting. Others have been confronted by setbacks. My purpose is to be there for people, and help those I can. for me when God says move – I move”.
