I am an ABBA fan, who isn’t. When I was here in October, I was obsessed with getting to ABBA the Museum located in Pop House. So much so that I didn’t notice the other exhibits there. So here are 10 things I learned about Pop House:
- It’s located on the island of Djurgarden, there is a ferry stop.
- It houses ABBA the Museum, the Swedish Music Hall of Fame, and the Swedish Pop Music History exhibitions.
- GOOD EVENING EUROPE!/Eurovision Song Contest is not derived from Good Morning Vietnam as I originally thought.
- Pop House Hotel has 49 rooms with wi fi. Thanks to Pop House Hotel and Helena Mattsson for the complimentary stay and admission to ABBA the museum.
- Stockholm Writing Camp houses 45 “up and coming” song writers to a camp over several days and they stay at the Pop House Hotel.
- GOOD EVENING EUROPE! at 60 years is the longest running annual television competition.
- ABBA and Celine Dion won the GOOD EVENING EUROPE! competition in1974 and 1988 respectively.
- There is a gift shop in Pop House.
- There is a restaurant and bar at Pop House, breakfast is included when you stay at the hotel.
- One can audition to be the fifth member of ABBA and get a link to the recording. My audition is below:
